I as a Massage Therapist

10/4/2020 · 1 min read

I as a massage therapist is a reflection on how bodily practice becomes a way to gently restore a person's resources and vital tone. A massage therapist works through the body but touches deeper levels — physical and mental — helping restore strength and maintain balance. What does this “I‑position” mean, and why does it make massage more than just a procedure? 🙋‍♂️

I as a Massage Therapist

_When a person comes for a massage, they are taking care of their body, and wherever there is care, there is an interest in growth and in life._💫
............................................

🌷Say "Yes" to Life!🌷

Massage is an affirmation of human existence through the body! 💢

When I work as a massage therapist, a particular "I-position" becomes active in me.
It is this "I-position" that interacts with a person through their body, carrying out restorative and relaxation procedures.
As a massage therapist, I help restore resources:

  1. Physical resources. We expend them in training, and repeatedly expending and restoring them through supercompensation leads to physical improvement and development.
There is a specialist who helps us spend this resource more intelligently. That is the coach.💪🏻

  2. Mental resources. We expend them in the process of psychotherapy (self-knowledge). And repeatedly expending and restoring them leads to psychological (spiritual) improvement and development.
There is a specialist who helps us spend this resource more intelligently. That is the psychologist.👁‍🗨

What amazes me is that in my "inner text", these two other "I-positions" had already formed earlier — the ones that help us "spend"...
