Multidisciplinary Approach

One of the reasons to combine training, wellness practices, and psychology.

Follow the principle of holistic development (preserve Gestalt)!!! ⚜️

“Any explanation that analyzes one area and excludes others will be unbalanced and therefore incorrect” (E. Fromm, The Sane Society, p. 296).

Socio‑economic, spiritual, psychological, and physical conditions look at the same phenomenon from different perspectives, and the task is to understand how these various aspects are interrelated and how they interact. “What is true of the causes is, of course, also true of the means by which the defects of modern man can be remedied” (ibid.). ✍🏻✍🏻✍🏻

If I believe that the true cause of illness is physiological or psychological, then, of course, I should consider that eliminating that cause leads to recovery. On the other hand, if I see how different aspects are interrelated, I arrive at the conclusion that the spiritual health of society can be achieved only through simultaneous changes in physical culture, labor, spiritual and psychological orientation, character structure, and cultural activity. 👌

“If we concentrate our efforts on a single sphere and ignore or exclude others, it will lead to destructive consequences for change as a whole. This seems to be one of the most important obstacles on the path to human progress” (ibid, p. 297).

The training process also ensures the unity of bodily, intellectual, and psychological components for personality formation. There is a close interrelation and interdependence in the development of the spiritual, emotional‑sensory, and physical spheres of a person.

“One integrated step forward in all areas of life will have far more long‑lasting and far‑reaching results for a person than a hundred steps in an isolated sphere.”

FAQ

Questions about this article

01Why is change in a single area of life insufficient for holistic human development?

Physical, psychological, spiritual, and socioeconomic conditions are interconnected. An isolated intervention can deepen imbalance, whereas coordinated change supports the sustainable development of the whole.

02How does a multidisciplinary approach apply to training and health?

It combines training, wellness practices, and psychology so that bodily, intellectual, and emotional components develop as interdependent parts of a person rather than in isolation.
